Residents Of Kwale County Receive Title Deeds As Ruto’s Coast Tour Begins

Residents of Kwale and Taita-Taveta counties are set to benefit from a series of state activities on Monday, September 28, 2026, as President William Ruto launches a working tour of the Coast region focused on land ownership and critical infrastructure development.

The presidential tour commences in Kibaoni, situated within Lunga Lunga Constituency, Kwale County, where the Head of State is scheduled to preside over the official distribution of title deeds to local residents.

The exercise aims to provide formal land ownership documents to long-standing landholders, granting legal protection to property rights and addressing decades-old tenure insecurity in the coastal region. By securing legal titles, beneficiaries will gain official recognition of their property, enabling them to leverage land assets for socio-economic development and settling long-running land disputes across the two counties.

Some of the residents including Anastasia from Lunga Lunga in Kwale County says receiving her title deed is an answered prayer and a moment she had long hoped for. She thanked President William Ruto for the support, saying the document has brought her joy and renewed hope.

She says the title deed gives her greater security over her land and expressed deep appreciation for finally receiving the document. Anastasia confirmed that her title deed is number 1084 and said she is grateful that what she had been praying for has finally come to pass.
