Shedge replaces Hardik in India A one-day squad

Suryansh Shedge has played three T20Is • SLC
Suryansh Shedge, the medium-pace-bowling allrounder, has been lined up to replace the injured Hardik Pandya for India A's upcoming three-match one-day series against Australia A in Puducherry.
Hardik had been named in the original one-day squad, subject to fitness clearance, but a fresh injury has scuppered his plans of returning to action. It is learnt that Hardik has not been pain-free while bowling and it further extends his absence off the field, which began in May during IPL 2026. As far as the one-day format is concerned, Hardik has not featured in it since the Champions Trophy final in March 2025.
Shedge, 23, has played three T20Is and nearly half his 15 List A games have come for India A. Notably, Shedge smashed a career-best 72 off 66 balls from No. 7 in a chaotic Super-Over finish against Sri Lanka A in Dambulla in June.

In another change, left-arm spin-bowling allrounder Anukul Roy will replace Naman Dhir, who has now taken Washington Sundar's spot for the upcoming five-match T20I series against West Indies.
Washington, who was recently part of the India T20I team that won the gold medal in the Asian Games, could instead play in Tamil Nadu's 2026-27 Ranji Trophy opener against Rajasthan, if picked.
Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was part of India's ODI squad against West Indies, will captain India A, with Devdutt Padikkal named his deputy. Padikkal had made his India A captaincy debut during the preceding red-ball series.
Australia A have also made a couple of changes, with Riley Meredith and Will Sutherland added to the one-day side for the three matches starting on Tuesday. The two replaced Jack Edwards and Aaron Hardie.
Edwards had left the Australia A squad last month to join the senior team in South Africa, where he also made his ODI debut. Hardie, meanwhile, has been ruled out of the series with a minor knee complaint.
The first one-dayer on October 6 will be a day-night game, starting at 2pm local time, while the second and third matches on October 9 and October 11 will be day games starting at 9am.
