Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. on Saturday paid tribute to the Filipino and American veterans who sacrificed and served to protect their respective countries in commemoration of the United States Veterans Day 2026.

Teodoro was joined by US Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Lipton during a wreath-laying ceremony at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial in Taguig City.

Teodoro stressed that veterans deserve recognition not only for their ultimate sacrifices, but also for the personal opportunities they shelved upon entering the profession of arms.

He further emphasized the responsibility of present generations to preserve the freedoms and shared values the veterans fought for. —Jamil Santos/KG, GMA News
