KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 31 — An 18-year-old college student died after falling from the 22nd floor of a condominium in Setapak here this morning.

Free Malaysia Today reported that Wangsa Maju police chief Annas Sulaiman said police were alerted at about 8.50am after a security guard found the student’s body at Residensi Teratai on Jalan Langkawi.

The victim, a first-semester student at Universiti Geomatika Malaysia, had returned to the university-provided condominium unit at about 7.07am, according to CCTV footage reviewed by police.

Annas said the footage showed the student subsequently falling from a corridor on the 22nd floor to the sixth floor.

“The victim was confirmed dead at the scene. The case has been classified as sudden death and further investigations are being held to complete the probe,” he said in a statement.
