Senator Christopher “Bong” Go is the top choice among seven potential candidates for vice president in the May 2028 national elections, according to a Pulse Asia survey conducted from September 17 to 24, 2026.

Go led the vice-presidential preference survey, ahead of Senators Robin Padilla, Bam Aquino, Erwin Tulfo and Kiko Pangilinan, as well as former Senator Grace Poe and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Nicolas Torre III.

Go received the support of 31% of Filipino adults, with his highest ratings recorded in Mindanao (55%), the Visayas (37%), the upper-income Class ABC (37%) and the middle-income Class D (31%).

Following Go were Padilla with 19%, Aquino with 17%, Poe with 14%, Tulfo with 10%, Pangilinan with 3% and Torre with 0.3%.

Padilla's support was highest among the low-income (Class E) respondents at 40% and lowest among the upper-income (Class ABC) respondents at 7%.

Two percent of respondents were undecided about their choice for vice president in the May 2028 elections, while another 2% said they would not support any of the potential candidates. One percent declined to state their preference.

At the time of the survey, Padilla had been subpoenaed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) in connection with an obstruction of justice complaint filed against him over the departure of Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa from Senate premises amid reports of an International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant against him.

Pulse Asia said it interviewed 2,400 representative Filipino adults face-to-face for the survey. The survey reportedly had a margin of error of ±2 percentage points at the 95% confidence level.

For subnational estimates, the margin of error was ±4 percentage points at the 95% confidence level for each of the following areas: Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao. — MCG, GMA News
