Sara Duterte impeachment trial Day 35: What to expect

The House prosecution panel on Wednesday will continue its presentation of witnesses from banks and financial firms to testify on Article 2 of the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte, alleging her unexplained wealth.
Based on a briefer from the Senate impeachment court, the following bank and insurance officials are lined up as witnesses for today’s trial:

* Atty. Niña Feren Aguilar - Head of Anti-Money Laundering Division
Security Bank Corporation
* Leslie Cham - Branch Banking Group Head
Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI)
* Marwin Galvez - Division Head for Central Manila Branches
Philippine National Bank (PNB)
* Julius Parian - Branch Manager of Davao San Pedro CM Recto Branch

During Tuesday’s trial, the prosecution, through Atty. James Bryan Alih, began presenting bank officials to testify on Article 2 of the Articles of Impeachment.
First in the group to be called to the witness stand was Landbank representative Eunice Sumatra from Davao Branch, followed by Landbank representative Raquel Dela Cerna of Davao R. Magsaysay Branch.
Sumatra testified that the payroll account of the Vice President is an active account in their branch, while dela Cerna told the Senate impeachment court that Carpio had an ending balance of worth at least P1.3 million in his bank account in LandBank Davao Magsaysay Branch as of end of 2025. —KG, GMA News
