Star Moles Signs to Dead Oceans, Readies 2027 Tour

Translate

Star Moles has announced her signing to Dead Oceans with a new song. “Born Again” reunites Philadelphia’s Emily Moales with her Highway to Hell producer, Rubber Band Gun’s Kevin Basko. It comes with a video directed by Lucky Marvel and shot in South Philly, which you can watch below.

“The thing about writing something that’s true is that it basically can’t be narrative,” Moales said in a press statement. “‘Born Again’ is a painting of real frustration, and the best way I can express that feeling is with a strong voice and words that mythologize. I wouldn’t say I’m religious, but I think sometimes my emotions are.”

Moales shared Highway to Hell, her new album, in February. Dead Oceans is issuing the LP on vinyl for the first time come December. Star Moles has slots at both Pitchfork Festival London and Pitchfork Festival Paris next month, and in January she’ll embark on a short run of U.S. headlining shows, including a split-billed Chicago date with Sam and Louise Sullivan. Scroll down for all of Moales’ upcoming performances.
