Producer opens up about Prabhas starrer ‘The Raja Saab’ failure

Producer TG Vishwa Prasad while speaking at a press conference in Hyderabad on Tuesday while promoting his upcoming film ‘Garividi Lakshmi’, said the release timing was one of the main reasons for its underperformance. As per Hindustan Times, when he was asked about the film’s failure during the event, the filmmaker shared that he felt the result could have been different had the film arrived at another time.“One of the fundamental mistakes was coming in a season (Sankranthi). It would’ve been different had we released it at a different time. Right now, we’re enjoying, so let’s enjoy,” he said.

Ticket price hike was a mistake

He said the film’s delayed premieres and the attempt to increase ticket prices also affected the audience’s experience.“The day we released the film, its premieres were delayed, and we had tried to raise ticket prices as well. I think that’s the first movie we (the production house) tried to raise the ticket price for; we shouldn’t have done it.

That caused a delay, and people were frustrated. There are many reasons for it,” he said. When asked whether he would make up for ‘The Raja Saab’ with Prabhas’ upcoming film ‘Spirit’, Vishwa clarified that he is only distributing the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial.“I am only a distributor for Spirit,” he said.
