WEATHER: Rain and thundershowers expected to hit ONE province

Here is what the weather has in store for KZN, Free State and North West on Monday 31 August 2026.

KWAZULU-NATAL

Morning and evening fog patches will develop over the interior, while most areas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with cool to warm temperatures.

Scattered showers and rain are expected in the extreme south-east, with isolated showers elsewhere, except in the extreme north-west.

Along the coast, light to moderate westerly to north-westerly winds will turn moderate easterly to north-easterly towards midday.

The UVB sunburn index will be moderate.

DURBAN

Durban is going to be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated showers and rain. The wind will be light to moderate easterly to north-easterly.

Temperatures will range from 18°C to 22°C.

Partly cloudy and cool to warm, with isolated showers, except the north.

BLOEMFONTEIN

Bloemfontein is going to be partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers.

Temperatures will range from a minimum of 10°C to a maximum of 25°C.

NORTH WEST

North West is going to be fine and cool to warm.

MAHIKENG

Mahikeng is going to be fine.

Temperatures will range from a minimum of 11°C. to a maximum of 28°C.
