The Alien franchise introduces a new type of Xenomorph, which boasts several massive upgrades, including a famous weapon that makes it unstoppable. The Xenomorphs are among the deadliest extraterrestrial creatures in pop culture, as they possess a parasitic life cycle that utilizes any living host to gestate and inherit the host's best physical traits. They weaponize their highly corrosive blood and fight with a razor-sharp tail and a second jaw that can punch clean through steel helmets. The Xenomorphs' complete lack of a visible face or recognizable eyes strips away any sense of empathy, and their stealth skills allow them to wipe out heavily armed colonial marine squads effortlessly.
The Xenomorphs' parasitic stages are no less deadly than their fully-grown counterparts, with the low physical combat power of the Facehugger and Chestburster relying mainly on surprise to infect their hosts. Once mature, the smooth-headed Drone becomes a master of hit-and-run ambushes within dark ventilation shafts, and the quadrupedal Runner adapts into a hyper-agile hunter on open terrain. The Warriors perfect their aggressive pack coordination, leading directly to the massive, heavily armored Praetorian guardians that shield the nest with their bulletproof hides. The peak of the Xenomorphs' evolution is the towering Xenomorph Queen, who commands the entire hive army.
Yet, some of the deadliest Xenomorphs have never appeared in the movies. In fact, they're debuting in a very different franchise.
Marvel's New Xenomorphs Develop Several Mutant Powers
Alien Vs X-Men #1; Written By Kieron Gillen; Art By Geraldo Borges & Andrew Dalhouse
Alien vs X-Men #1 presents a timeline where the X-Men are caught with their guard down by Xenomorphs during an extraterrestrial mission. Before Charles Xavier and the rest of his students realize it, the attacked squad has already been consumed by the Xenomorphs, many of whom have copied their mutant powers. At least two of the Xenomorphs now wield Wolverine's adamantium claws, and the Xenomorph Queen has the ability to transform her body into solid diamond, like Emma Frost. Even worse, the Xenomorph Queen holds a Chestburster who sports tiny claws as well.
The reason there are multiple clawed Xenomorphs is that Wolverine regenerates constantly, and the Xenomorph Queen keeps him as a living factory of aliens with the same weapon as the original mutant. Alien vs X-Men #1 started off with Wolverine replicating the Chestbursters' iconic chest-destroying move on Orbins Stellaris. Not long afterward, the most indestructible of the X-Men has become the aliens' most tragic victim, though his inability to die may also give the surviving mutants a chance to wipe out the extraterrestrial invaders.
Alien's Xenomorphs Are Even More Dangerous To The X-Men Than Predator's Yautja
The Xenomorphs Aren't Playing Around
The premise of Alien vs. X-Men comic book series introduces an even more devastating threat to mutantkind than Predator Kills the Marvel Universe. In the Predator crossover, the Yautja warriors keep their code of honor that upholds the thrill of the hunt, which prompts them to prolong engagements to test their prey's combat prowess. Meanwhile, the Xenomorphs have no sense of sportsmanship and move straight to the kill, which leaves no room for hesitation when it comes to survival. In Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribić's Aliens vs Avengers, the whole world's superhero community draws out their conflict against the Xenomorphs, to ultimately no avail.
In Predator Kills the Marvel Universe, the Yautja hunters claim many of the Marvel heroes' weapons and costumes as prizes, but their enhancements don't come quite close to Alien vs X-Men's Xenomorphs, who inherit the actual superhuman abilities of the X-Men right from the beginning of the conflict. Once the mutant Xenomorphs arrive on Earth, every single X-Men hero that falls tips the scale toward the aliens' victory. The fact that the Xenomorphs somehow have the ability to replicate not only Wolverine's bone claws but their adamantium coating as well should be an ominous sign for the Children of the Atom.
