Shuttler Zii Jia seeks High Court injunction against father, sister [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Professional shuttler Lee Zii Jia has applied for an interim injunction at the Kuala Lumpur High Court to prevent his father and sister from making certain financial and management decisions at LZJ Management while a legal dispute is pending.
In a summons filed on July 2, 2026, under case number WA-24NCC-400-07/2026, Zii Jia named his father, Lee Chee Hin, sister Lee Zii Yii, younger brother Lee Tao and LZJ Management as respondents.
He is seeking to prevent Chee Hin and Zii Yii, both company directors, from approving directors' fees, allowances, bonuses or other financial benefits for themselves beyond their monthly salaries.
The application also seeks to restrict decisions on the appointment and removal of directors, the appointment of a company secretary, major asset disposals, new share issuances and changes to the company's shareholding structure without court approval.
Zii Jia claims to own 90 per cent of the company, with Zii Yii holding nine per cent and Lee Tao one per cent.
He has also sought a court order to convene an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) to address the company's management and governance.
In his supporting affidavit, Zii Jia said an attempt to hold an EGM on Dec 22 last year failed due to a lack of quorum.
He wants the EGM to be held within 14 days of the court order or within another period determined by the court.
He has also requested permission to issue and serve the meeting notice and appoint an independent chairman.
The application is being contested by the respondents.
In an affidavit in reply filed on Aug 6, Chee Hin disputed the need for court intervention, saying the company had continued to manage matters relating to his son's professional badminton career.
