Four dogs, two parrots rescued from Hadera house fire, Israel Fire and Rescue announces
Fire and rescue crews in Hadera saved four dogs and two caged parrots from a house fire on Monday, Israel Fire and Rescue Authority announced.
The fire began in the home's yard, spreading to a pergola and then the structure itself, Israel's Fire and Rescue Authority stated.
Captain Idan Haliva, deputy commander of the Hadera firefighting team which handled the blaze, said that a significant amount of the house's contents were burning, including a pair of electric bicycles and lithium batteries.
No injuries were reported, although the structure sustained heavy damage, Israel's Fire and Rescue Authority said.
Woman killed in Golan fire, Israel Fire and Rescue Authority says
On Sunday, an approximately 60-year-old woman was pronounced dead after being pulled from a fire in a two-story home that had been raging for the past hour in the Golan, Israel's Fire and Rescue Authority announced.
"The team rushed to the scene following a report received directly from a citizen regarding a fire and a concern that someone was trapped inside a house in the village," said Galilee-Golan District Deputy Fire Chief Eli Mor. "The team entered the smoke-filled structure and rescued a woman in critical condition. The firefighters performed resuscitation efforts until medical personnel arrived."
"I reiterate the crucial importance of installing smoke detectors in homes to provide early warning of a fire and save lives."
