Suriya is gearing up for the upcoming film ‘Scene,’ directed by Malayalam filmmaker Jithu Madhavan, famous for ‘Romancham’ and ‘Aavesham,’ marking his Tamil debut. Ahead of the film’s release on November 6, the actor said he had hoped to work with Jithu because he admired his previous films, having “quietly manifested” it.Speaking at the film’s pre-release event in Dubai, Suriya said he never expected the opportunity to come so soon, as quoted by Cinema Express.“I had quietly manifested the opportunity to work with Jithu, the director of Romancham and Aavesham, because I really love his work. I never imagined it would happen so soon!” Suriya said.

Suriya says Jithu’s story made him laugh

Suriya also recalled his first experience of listening to Jithu Madhavan narrate the story of Scene.

He said he usually listens quietly during story narrations, but this time he found himself laughing within minutes.“He narrated the story to me. I'm usually a fairly quiet listener when someone narrates a story. But within five minutes, I found myself breaking into laughter and thoroughly enjoying it!” he said.Along with director Jithu Madhavan, ‘Scene’ also marks composer Sushin Shyam’s entry into Tamil cinema, bringing together the filmmaker and music composer behind some popular Malayalam projects.

Suriya cheers for Nazriya’s performance

During the event, Suriya also praised his co-star Nazriya Nazim for her natural acting and screen presence. He also spoke about her character, Maya, and said Jithu had written the role beautifully.“As always, Jithu has created a new world with his distinctive style and brilliant performances. Nazriya brings so much to the film with her natural performance and screen presence. Her character, Maya, is so beautifully written and fully realised.

What more can I say? She's done a wonderful job,” he said.

Suriya welcomes Naslen to Tamil cinema

Suriya also welcomed Malayalam actor Naslen, who is making his Tamil cinema debut with ‘Scene’. He lauded the actor’s work and expressed his hope that he would continue to appear in Tamil films.“And a warm welcome to our incredibly talented Naslen, who is making his debut in Tamil cinema with this film. I hope you go on to do many more Tamil films. I've seen your work, and I'm really looking forward to seeing more of you.

Thank you for the magic you've brought to this film,” he said. The actor also thanked the technical crew, mentioning that several members, including those from the music team, cinematography, choreography and editing departments, were making their Tamil cinema debut with the project.‘Scene’ is set to be a stylish action-comedy combining mass action sequences with humour and romance. The film features Suriya playing Imbaraj IPS, a police officer. Alongside Suriya, Nazriya and Naslen, it also includes Anandraj, Lal and Raj Priyan in key roles. It is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 6, 2026, coinciding with Diwali.
