Khushbu completed 40 years in South Indian cinema with the anniversary of her first Telugu film, Kaliyuga Pandavulu, which released in 1986. She took to social media to remember the milestone and the people who welcomed her into the industry.

Sharing an emotional note, she wrote that she completes 40 years in cinema in the South, adding that her very first South film released on the same date back in 1986. She recalled walking in as a gawky 15-year-old teenager with zero knowledge about the industry, and staying on to build a career, a life and a family.

Khushbu thanks fans and remembers Telugu cinema mentors

The actress reserved special gratitude for her fans, who have remained a constant part of her career. She offered her pranaams to the fans who accepted her and became part of her life, saying she wouldn't be who she is today without them. Khushbu also remembered the late D. Ramanaidu, K. Raghavendra Rao and Suresh Naidu, who played an important role in introducing her to Telugu cinema.

She further spoke warmly about her four-decade friendship with actor Venkatesh Daggubati, calling finding a lifelong friend one of the most beautiful parts of her journey.

Directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, 'Kaliyuga Pandavulu' marked an important beginning in Khushbu's South Indian career. The Telugu masala entertainer became a box-office success and helped open doors for her across the South. The film was later remade in Kannada as 'Poli Huduga' in 1989. Khushbu has since gone on to have an illustrious career in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam cinema, acting in over 200 films across languages.
