The fluffy four! Sweet cheetah cubs explore with their mum

Four cheeky cheetah cubs have been captured in a series of adorable shots exploring their surroundings - with the help of mum!

The cubs - who live at the Lunaret Zoo in Montpellier, southern France - were pictured curiously roaming around their enclosure, playfully jumping on the grass and standing on top of loose tree branches.

In one picture, the cubs are seen beside their mother, Bastet, adorably poking their heads above the branches that lay scattered across the enclosure floor.

In another shot, the cheetah cubs - who were born in captivity - are captured sitting together, their heads curiously tilted to one side as they take in their new surroundings.

One particularly cute picture shows one of the cubs sitting in a white bucket - with only its fluffy head appearing to surface and furry paws on display.

Cheetahs are known for being the world's fastest land animal, but are now classified as a vulnerable species, meaning they could be threatened with extinction due to factors such as habitat loss.

Only around 7,000 to 10,000 of the big cats remain in the wild, making the latest four additions a welcome addition to the species.
