£20,000 reward offered after man found dead in ‘awful circumstances’ inside Birmingham flat

A £20,000 reward is being offered to anyone who is able to share information about the murder of a man found dead in “awful circumstances” inside a Birmingham flat.
The independent charity Crimestoppers is offering the sum for information given anonymously that leads to the conviction of the person responsible for the death of 41-year-old √who was murdered at a flat in Moseley Street, Digbeth, on February 9 2022.
West Midlands Police previously released CCTV of a suspect, described as black, aged in his late 20s at the time, around 5ft 4ins and of an average build.
Footage of the masked man, wearing a dark hat and dark clothing, was captured as he walked along Barford Street just before the murder.
A DNA sample from the suspected killer was found at the scene and submitted for forensic testing, which concluded that the suspect is a man and there is a 99.99% probability that he is black.

There was no match found on the national DNA database, police said.
Jenny Birch, who is overseeing the investigation, said: “Someone out there knows something, and we won’t give up until we have answers.
“Mr Zhang was killed in such awful circumstances, and we will not stop until we find out who did this to him.
“People needn’t be afraid to come forward with names. The DNA sample we have means that we are able to quickly and easily eliminate people from our ongoing investigation.
“If you have any information, no matter how small, please get in touch. It could be small to you, but key to our investigation.”
