Singer Jackson Wang Signs With WME (Exclusive)
Singer Jackson Wang has signed with WME for representation in all areas, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.
The 32-year-old is currently starring in an Apple campaign tied to his latest single “Thank You,” which released in September. Wang, who rose to fame as a member of K-pop boy group GOT7, has led an increasingly successful solo career since his debut solo album Mirrors in 2019.
Mirrors marked the first time a Chinese solo artist debuted on the Billboard 200 albums chart. His follow-up “100 Ways” made him the first Chinese singer to debut on Mediabase’s U.S. top 40, while his song “LMLY” accumulated over 103 million streams on Spotify and debuted on the platform’s Global Viral 50 Chart.
Throughout his career as a soloist, Wang has performed alongside a wide range of global artists. To-date, he’s collaborated with Ciara, Swae Lee, Major Lazer, Galantis, Gucci Mane, Joji, GoldLink and more. The singer also founded his own companies, Team Wang Records and Team Wang Design.
In 2022, the singer, originally from Hong Kong, became the first Chinese solo artist to perform at the main stage of Coachella. During that set, he invited Ciara up for a buzzy performance of their collaboration “Slow.” Wang returned to the festival in 2023 and 2024.
Outside of music, Wang has been a steady presence at fashion weeks around the world. He’s developed partnerships with Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Armani, Nike and Air Jordan. Through his Louis Vuitton partnership, Wang has collaborated with the luxury fashion house’s creative director Pharrell Williams.
Signing with WME in all areas, Wang’s new chapter will include an emphasis on acting. The performer is actively pursuing expanding into that space.
In addition to WME, Wang remains under Team Wang Records and Roc Nation.
