'Jailer 2' OTT Release: Rajinikanth and Nelson's actioner may get 30 extra minutes in UNCUT digital version

Rajinikanth's 'Jailer 2' has become one of the major box office successes of Tamil cinema this year. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film hit theatres on October 15 and received a strong response from audiences. The sequel features a large star cast, including Ramya Krishnan, Mirnaa, SJ Suryah, Vidya Balan, Suraj Venjaramoodu,

Hrithik Roshan

Mohanlal

and Shivarajkumar. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music, while Sun Pictures backed the project.

With the film completing its theatrical run successfully, attention has now shifted to its digital release and the additional content that could be included.

'Jailer 2' OTT version may feature 30 minutes of additional footage

According to a report by News18, 'Jailer 2' may arrive on OTT platforms with an uncut version featuring around 30 minutes of additional footage. The digital version is reportedly expected to include scenes featuring Santhanam, Mohanlal, Vijay Sethupathi and Hrithik Roshan that did not make it into the theatrical cut.

The news has created interest among fans who wanted to see more of these actors in the film. The report also suggests that the extended version could offer a different viewing experience compared to the theatrical release.

However, the makers have not officially confirmed the additional footage or the uncut version so far.

Deleted scenes featuring Mohanlal and Santhanam may return in OTT version

Some of the casting choices and screen time in 'Jailer 2' became talking points after its release.

Santhanam was seen in the film's shooting completion video, but his scenes were reportedly removed from the final version. Some of Mohanlal's scenes were also reportedly removed, which disappointed many fans in Kerala. Vijay Sethupathi's portions were also reportedly reduced. If the reported extended version becomes available, audiences may finally get to watch some of these missing portions.

The possibility of additional scenes featuring the star cast has added another reason for fans to look forward to the OTT premiere.

'Jailer 2' OTT release date and streaming platforms

The film is expected to premiere digitally after its theatrical run, with Amazon Prime Video and Sun NXT reportedly associated with its OTT release. According to reports, the streaming release could happen after November 10. However, the exact date and the availability of the extended cut are yet to receive official confirmation. Meanwhile, fans are waiting to see whether Nelson will bring back the deleted portions and offer a longer version of the Rajinikanth starrer.

If the reports are true, fans will get to watch more scenes from the film when it releases on OTT.
