INSIDE Shreya Ghoshal's Mumbai home: Cosy cream walls, a rehearsal piano and a balcony with a striking city view

Singer Shreya Ghoshal welcomed Farah Khan and her cook Dilip into her Mumbai home in the latest episode of ‘Food with Farah’. Viewers got a peek at her cosy house, a tasty Bengali lunch and a sweet gift exchange at the end.

Shreya Ghoshal’s musical journey

Shreya Ghoshal is one of India’s most loved singers. She has won five National Film Awards and many other honours, and she keeps delivering hits every year. Her voice is behind popular songs from ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Jab We Met’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Ramayana’ and ‘Paheli’. She has also sung in over 15 Indian languages, including Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Bengali and Marathi.

A warm entrance and open living area

The entrance of the house has a wooden finish, with a few cabinets kept outside the main door.

Inside, cream walls and soft yellow lighting create a welcoming feel. The living room has an open layout, so the dining and lounge areas flow into each other. The dining area has a wooden table with a bench and four chairs. Next to it stands a black piano that Shreya Ghoshal uses for rehearsals. The seating area has two beige sofas in an L-shape, along with orange-brown accent chairs around the coffee table.

City view balcony and guest room

There is no television in the living room. The seating faces the balcony instead, which offers a lovely view of the city.

The balcony has several planters and two wooden chairs facing each other, making it a nice spot for morning tea or an evening chai. The guest room doubles as her rehearsal space, filled with her musical instruments. She chose to put in a wall bed so that guests can stay comfortably, while the room stays open and usable when she is at home with her family.

Kitchen and Bengali lunch

The kitchen has a black countertop and white cabinets, with printed tiles behind the counter adding a pop of colour. For lunch, Shreya made Bengali bhetki, a fish dish where the fish is marinated and cooked in banana leaves. The spread also included Farah Khan’s “legendary” roast chicken.

Gift exchange ends the vlog

Like every episode, this one ended with a gift exchange. This time, Shreya Ghoshal had a present for Farah Khan, a goodie bag from the Unstoppable Tour.
