According to the situation report of the Lian Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), seven residential areas were monitored from Aug. 18 to 19 after flooding was reported due to persistent rainfall and overflowing rivers.

Authorities warned residents against attempting to cross flooded or impassable areas, particularly where floodwaters are deep or moving rapidly.

“Road conditions may change at any time depending on rainfall and rising or receding water levels. Response teams continue to monitor the situation and will issue further advisories as necessary,” the municipal government said.

Floodwaters reached chest level along portions of some roads, making passage difficult and prompting authorities to assist residents in affected communities.
