Dyah (pronounced Dee-yah) is a Senior Author at Collider, responsible for both writing and transcription duties. She joined the website in 2022 as a Resource Writer before stepping into her current role in April 2023. As a Senior Author, she writes Features and Lists covering TV, music, and movies, making her a true Jill of all trades. In addition to her writing, Dyah also serves as an interview transcriber, primarily for events such as San Diego Comic-Con, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the Sundance Film Festival.

Dyah graduated from Satya Wacana Christian University in October 2019 with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature, concentrating on Creative Writing. On March 2026, Dyah graduated with Master's degree in English Literature Studies, with a thesis on intersectionality in postcolonial-feminist studies in Asian literary works.

Born and raised between Indonesia and Singapore, Dyah is no stranger to different cultures. She now resides in the small town of Kendal with her husband and four cats, where she spends her free time cooking or cycling.

A failing marriage, a murder mystery, and two spouses with reasons to suspect each other make an intoxicating combination for a crime thriller. Netflix’s His & Hers has all three and more. Complementing the plot are Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson as a married couple gone sour, delivering magnetic conflict once their characters reunite over a dead body in the woods.

Six episodes might seem too short to tell a fully fleshed-out murder mystery with a side of marital issues, but the miniseries uses its runtime to keep audiences hooked — and the streaming numbers speak for themselves. His & Hers averaged 25.6 million viewers in its first 35 days and was watched by 104 million viewers in the first six months of 2026.

What Is 'His & Hers' About?

Based on Alice Feeney’s novel, His & Hers follows reporter Anna Andrews (Thompson), who abruptly returns to the newsroom after disappearing for a year, hoping to reclaim her career. When a murder occurs in her childhood town of Dahlonega, Georgia, Anna sees an opportunity to prove herself. The victim, Rachel Hopkins (Jamie Tisdale), was the notorious “mean girl” from Anna’s high school days and, coincidentally, one of her closest friends back then.

If that’s not bad enough, the lead detective on the case is Anna’s estranged husband, Jack Harper (Bernthal), whom she has been separated from for the past year. Things get even messier when Jack’s secret comes to light: he slept with Rachel while Anna was away, allegedly the night before she was killed. Whether Jack is the killer remains a mystery, but his connection to the victim makes him look suspicious. As for Anna, her professional vendetta has suddenly become personal. As one piece of evidence leads to another, the two estranged spouses begin to suspect each other of murder, turning an already complicated case into a tangled mess of secrets, lies, and competing versions of the truth.

'His & Hers' Gives the Toxic Couple Trope a Thriller Twist

No words are needed to show the boiling tension between Anna and Jack in His & Hers. Apart from keeping secrets from each other, the two don’t want to discuss what actually went wrong in their marriage. When Anna and Jack’s judgments of each other start affecting their work, the consequences go beyond their relationship. Their views of the townsfolk-turned-suspects become biased, and their actions threaten the investigation. Anna isn’t above using unethical methods to steer public opinion, while Jack has no qualms about keeping certain evidence hidden.

Some might call them the ultimate toxic couple, but His & Hers flips the script in its later episodes by showing who Anna and Jack really are. Their messy relationship isn’t simply the result of poor communication or cheating; their real trauma gives the series a surprising emotional anchor. It’s a fresh take, considering toxic couples are often sensationalized for drama’s sake. His & Hers gives valid reasons for their brokenness, showing that beneath all the resentment, Jack and Anna still understand each other in ways no one else can.

Could 'His & Hers' Return for Season 2?

Although His & Hers was initially created as a limited miniseries, that’s not stopping the hit show from expanding its ideas. The creative team behind His & Hers is reportedly reuniting for a new adaptation, with creator William Oldroyd set to write and direct an adaptation of Feeney’s upcoming novel Twist. It’s not a direct sequel, but rather a spiritual follow-up that shares similar themes of a marriage gone sideways. Set to be published in 2027, Twist follows a flight attendant leading a double life with two husbands, with a murder taking place in the background.

Still, that hasn't stopped fans from wondering whether a direct sequel to His & Hers is possible. Previously, Oldroyd admitted that because of the limited series format, the team hasn’t thought about what might happen next. While the characters are great and the twist is terrific, he suggested that anyone hoping for a sequel would “have to ask Netflix to see what plans they have.” With His & Hers ending on a happy yet shocking note, its current success suggests that a sequel wouldn’t hurt its chances of continuing that momentum.
