New James Bond latest: Two major British actors ruled out of being 'mystery' actor in contention

We're still waiting with baited breath to find out who the latest James Bond actor is, and it feels like it could be announced any time now. Over the weekend, the final four actors were reportedly screen tested for the role: Callum Turner, Josh O'Connor, Jack Lowden, and a mystery fourth actor.
We don't officially know who that fourth actor is just yet but, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Harris Dickinson and Nicholas Hoult are not in the running. A further report from the outlet claims that Jack O'Connell may be the fourth person.
Back in the summer, the Bond franchise's new boss under Amazon MGM, Amy Pascal, said that she'd expect the announcement to be made before the end of the year.

Writer Steven Knight also recently spoke about whether he had any specific actors in mind when he penned the script for the upcoming film.
"It does make life a little bit easier if you know who that person is, but also you have to write the character, not the actor," he said on BBC Radio 4. "The thing with Bond is it’s its own universe, and it’s its own franchise. So there are certain rules."
He added: "I mean, obviously you have to move it along, but I love where it sits. I love that it’s British. I love that it’s not DC or Marvel… So I feel a responsibility to the text."
Lea Seydoux, who played Madeleine Swann in the latest two Bond films, recently aired her concerns that the series could lose something now it's owned by Amazon rather than an independent family-owned company.

"I'm curious how they will reinvent it. But for me, it will never be the same because it was Barbara's father who initiated the Bond movies," she said.
"Now, I don't know. It became American… I hope they will keep the British spirit."
