DPWH says it has fixed 'obstacles' on highway in Limay, Bataan

The Department of Public Works and Highways on Saturday said it had already addressed the "obstacles" on a highway in Limay, Bataan, after a video taken by a netizen went viral.

"Naayos na ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ang mga barrier sa ginagawang bahagi ng highway sa Limay, Bataan na tila naging 'obstacle course' at nagpahirap sa mga motoristang dumadaan dahil sa paiba-iba at magkakalayong puwesto nito," the DPWH said in a Facebook post.

(The DPWH already fixed the barriers on a portion of a highway in Limay, Bataan that is undergoing repairs and seemed to have become an 'obstacle course' that challenged motorists.)

"Kasunod ng utos ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na tiyaking ligtas ang mga kalsada para sa publiko, itinama ng DPWH ang pagkakalagay ng mga barrier at isinara ang bahaging nangangailangan ng pagkukumpuni upang maisagawa nang maayos at ligtas ang road repair," it added.

(In accordance with the order of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to ensure that roads are kept safe for the public, the DPWH moved the barriers and closed the portion of the highway needing repairs.)

YouScooper Ge shared a video taken on September 8 showing the "obstacle course"-like portion of the highway in Limay, Bataan.

The barriers were not in one line as seen on the video, forcing motorists to drive around them.

According to YouScooper Ge, the said highway often gets damaged whenever heavy rains from the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) or tropical cyclone pours.
