Petronas records RM152.4bil revenue in first half of 2026

KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas recorded RM152.4 billion in revenue for the first half of 2026, driven by higher domestic production and increased liquefied natural gas (LNG) sales volume.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said the performance was also supported by sales of processed gas, backed by higher average realised prices for major products following geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
However, she said Petronas also incurred higher costs of sales due to rising import and crude oil processing costs, in line with its commitment to maintain stable operations and guarantee the security and sustainability of national energy supplies, despite support from stronger market prices.
"Petronas implements corporate social responsibility through initiatives designed to be inclusive, high-impact and aligned with the sustainable development agenda, thereby contributing to improving the quality of life and well-being of local communities.
"Petronas also carried out more than 1,000 initiatives that benefited recipients from various backgrounds and needs in the country between 2020 and last year.
"They also collaborate with the government and local agencies to ensure every programme is implemented effectively and delivers sustainable impact," she said in a written reply published on the parliament website today.
She was replying to Datuk Ewon Benedick (GRS-Penampang) regarding Petronas revenue from oil sales since February and the amount contributed to the government for public aid or development programmes.
