Mirzapur Box Office Collections: Ali Fazal starrer drops by 65 per cent in 4th weekend, nets Rs 220 crore in 24 days

Mirzapur collected Rs. 1.50 crore on its 4th Sunday, registering a nominal drop. The movie wrapped up its 4th weekend around Rs. 4 crore. That's a 65 per cent drop from the previous weekend. The running cume of the gangster action drama reached Rs. 220 crore nett at the Indian box office.
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Divyenndu, Ravi Kishan, and Jitendra starrer will face new competition, Drishyam: The Conclusion from the coming weekend. Based on current trends, the movie is looking to wind up its entire run in the vicinity of Rs. 225 to 230 crore nett in India.
Mirzapur is the third biggest HIT of the year so far, behind Dhurandhar: The Revenge and Hanuman Ansh. This is an excellent result not only for its makers but also for the industry, as it has demonstrated that successful digital IPs can make the transition to theatres. In times when the box office is becoming more and more driven by IPs, with the 90s superstars slowly transitioning out and there being no real new stars in a long time, this is a welcome development.
With the success of Mirzapur, more OTT shows are expected to transition into a big-screen experience.
