Ariana Madix to Star in Housewives Drama Series in Development at Peacock

Continuing her crossover from reality TV into acting, Ariana Madix is attached to executive produce and star in a drama series in development at Peacock.

In a meta play on Madix’s unscripted career, the project is titled “Future Housewives” with an official logline that reads, “In the decadent asteroid colony of New Beverly Hills, wealthy socialites juggle bioengineered beauty regimens, ruthless rivalries and interplanetary scandals. But when a young, starry-eyed outsider unexpectedly upends their glamorous world, it exposes just how far they’ve drifted out of touch in a society evolving beyond superficiality in this sharply satirical yet surprisingly heartfelt reinvention of reality TV.”

“Future Housewives” is written by Brandon Braga, who is best known for writing on “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and “Star Trek: Voyager” in addition to co-creating “Star Trek: Enterprise.” He is repped by WME.

Seth Macfarlane executive produces via his Fuzzy Door banner alongside Erica Huggins, while Fuzzy Door’s Jaron Lanier serves as co-executive producer and Rachel Hargreaves-Heald and Emily Kochman are overseeing. Universal Global Television is the studio.

Madix first rose to prominence as a cast member on Bravo’s “Vanderpump Rules,” which she appeared on for 11 years, and currently serves as the host of “Love Island USA” on Peacock. She made her acting debut as Roxie Hart in “Chicago” on Broadway, where she currently stars as Connie Francis in “Just in Time.” On screen, she has had guest roles on NBC’s “St. Denis Medical” and ABC’s “Will Trent.” Madix recently launched her own production banner, Over Fences, and “Future Housewives” is its first scripted project. She is repped by Gersh, Venture Entertainment Partners and Hansen Jacobson Teller.
