20 areas record unhealthy API readings, Batu Pahat highest at 186

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 20 areas recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 7am today.

Based on data from the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS), Batu Pahat recorded the highest API reading at 186, followed by Kluang (169), Larkin (166), Segamat (165), Pasir Gudang (164), Tangkak (163) and Nilai (160).

Other locations that recorded unhealthy API readings were Seremban (156), Kota Tinggi (155), Pengerang (154), Bandaraya Melaka (153), Putrajaya, Rompin and Balok Baru Kuantan, each at 152.

Cheras recorded an API reading of 137, followed by Indera Mahkota Kuantan (124), Kemaman (121), and Batu Muda, Bukit Rambai and Paka, each at 103.

Meanwhile, 43 locations recorded moderate API readings, while five others recorded good readings.

An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and 301 and above hazardous.
