Bersatu ready to discuss cooperation for Melaka polls

Translate

KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) is ready to discuss and refine the form of cooperation or an electoral pact for the upcoming Melaka state election, said its secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.

He said the matter was among the decisions reached at the Bersatu Political Bureau meeting chaired by its president, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, today.

Mohamed Azmin said the decision was made after taking into account views and analyses on Bersatu's participation in the Melaka election, including various aspects of the current political landscape.

He said Bersatu had also confirmed that it would use its own party symbol in the election, while the seats it would contest would be finalised soon.

"The decision to establish an electoral pact for the Melaka state election is aimed at optimising our potential to ensure the stability and continuity of a moderate and progressive state administration for the well-being of the people of Melaka.

"Bersatu appeals to the people of Melaka to give its candidates an opportunity to represent their voices, bring meaningful change and deliver direct benefits to all Melaka residents," he said in a statement today.
