In short:

Prosecutors have obtained more than 70,000 pages of phone data collected as part of an investigation into a Melbourne gym owner accused of drug trafficking.

Court documents show former boxer Ray "Razor" Dimachki, who has been charged with trafficking cocaine, refused to release the passwords of his devices to police earlier this year.

Mr Dimachki's South Melbourne gym was gutted by a series of suspicious fires.

Investigators probing an alleged drug-trafficking boxer whose gym was firebombed twice in two days will comb through more than 70,000 pages worth of phone data.

Ray "Razor" Dimachki fronted the Melbourne Magistrates' Court this week, charged with trafficking a "large commercial quantity" of cocaine and possessing a slew of other illicit drugs, including testosterone, peptides and MDMA.

Mr Dimachki's brother Majed Al-Dimachki is also facing drugs and weapons charges and attended the same hearing.

The brothers appeared via video link for a brief hearing on Thursday as the court was told prosecutors had obtained more than 70,000 pages worth of phone data during the investigation.

A magistrate granted both brothers' lawyers additional time to read through the large volume of material.

During the proceedings, Mr Dimachki could be seen shaking his head and gesturing for his lawyer, Daniel Georgiou, to argue against the media being granted access to his charges.

Those documents were released by the court, and stated the former professional boxer had earlier this year refused to hand over his device passwords to police.

They alleged he possessed a pill press, an unregistered handgun and ammunition.

He also allegedly possessed several types of prescription sleeping pills as well as the prescription opioid oxycodone.

Prosecutors say Mr Dimachki dealt with more than $100,000 worth of proceeds of crime, some in US dollars.

The pair's charges come after Mr Dimachki's boxing gym, Rare Breed in South Melbourne, was gutted by fire twice in June.

Arsonists rammed the Montague Street gym's roller door before torching it for the first time about 3.15am on June 16.

Two days later, assailants returned to the gym in the early hours, with the second attack completely gutting the inside of the building.

Following the attacks, a statement posted to the business's social media said the gym was "no longer operational".

Before opening gyms in South Melbourne and Mordialloc, Mr Dimachki was a professional boxer and kickboxer who fought under the nickname "Razor Ray".

No arrests were made at the time of both suspicious blazes.

Mr Dimachki and Mr Al-Dimachki are both on bail and return to court for a committal hearing in December.
