‘Crew Girl’ Renewed For Season 2 At Netflix

There will be more Crew Girl in our future. Netflix has renewed the popular YA drama for a second season.

Written by Vivian Lin, Crew Girl is described as a frothy, coming-of-age teen drama about a 16-year-old female rower Teagan (Miku Martineau) who becomes the coxswain of a dysfunctional all-boys rowing team at an elite East Coast Prep School. Warring rivals, messy romantic entanglements, and betrayed friendships spill drama both in and out of the boat. Not to mention her complicated relationship with her mom, Ella (Jessica Paré). The team’s a mess, her life’s a mess. Can she fix both and win?

In addition to Martineau and Paré, cast includes Samuel Braun (The Marshmallow Experiment, Time Cut, Bad Genius) as Josh; Braun (The Marshmallow Experiment, Time Cut, Bad Genius) as Josh;
Kyle Clark (Hello, Goodbye and Everything, The Baby-Sitter’s Club, Riverdale) as Cam and Thomas Cadrot (Scream, So Help Me Todd, Family Law) as Coach Hayden.

The series is produced by Great Pacific Media, Thunderbird Entertainment’s scripted and unscripted live-action division. Lin serves as writer, executive producer and showrunner. Jeff Norton (Geek Girl, Finding Her Edge), Lindsay Macadam, Hillary Zwick Turner, Tony Chung, and Lori Massini also serve as executive producers.
