Georges Mikautadze Strikes At The Death As 10-Man Villarreal Stun Valencia

Georges Mikautadze snatched a late 2-1 win for Villarreal in a derby clash against Valencia, who had midfielder Harvey Elliott sent off as both sides finished with 10 men. The Yellow Submarine came from behind to triumph, climbing into mid-table and leaving Javier Aguirre's Los Che 19th and in the relegation zone. Pepelu sent Valencia ahead from the penalty spot in the first half before American defender Alex Freeman headed the visitors level at the Mestalla Stadium in the 69th minute. Inigo Perez's Villarreal were reduced to 10 men when Pape Gueye caught Jose Gaya in the face with an elbow.
However, English midfielder Elliott, on loan from Liverpool, was soon dismissed after receiving two quick yellow cards for dissent.
Villarreal striker Mikautadze struck in stoppage time, racing through on goal and finishing clinically to secure all three points.
Later on Saturday, Atletico Madrid host Deportivo La Coruna, while on Sunday leaders Barcelona welcome Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid to Camp Nou for El Clasico.
