“The Government Is Delivering”- PS Raymond Omollo Rallies Awendo Residents Behind National Projects
Internal Security and National Administration Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has called on residents of Migori County to support the national government’s broad-based development agenda, highlighting targeted policy interventions delivered across the Nyanza region under President William Ruto’s administration.
Addressing residents along the Kanyawanga–Kwoyo–Madiaba road in Awendo Constituency, PS Omollo detailed structural reforms designed to boost local agricultural production, improve rural transport networks, and enhance public service delivery. Central to his address was the ongoing turnaround of South Nyanza Sugar Company (Sony Sugar), where he assured local farmers that chronic payment delays that previously plagued the sector have been successfully resolved.
Under the revamped model, sugarcane farmers are now receiving their funds within ten days of delivery, while factory staff are benefiting from regularized, monthly salary disbursements.
Beyond the sugar sub-sector, the Principal Secretary emphasized the government’s investments in human capital and basic infrastructure. He pointed to progress in the local education sector, citing the continuous recruitment and deployment of teachers to public schools across Migori to improve classroom instruction and student outcomes. Highlighting the state’s ongoing road construction projects aimed at opening up rural markets for agricultural produce, Omollo urged community members to acknowledge these tangible milestones and maintain a collaborative working relationship with the President Ruto-led administration.
