JRF 2026, Ye concert bring Rp625 billion economic impact to Jakarta

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo said the Jakarta Running Festival (JRF) and global rapper Kanye West (Ye) concert, "Ye Live in Jakarta 2026," brought an economic impact of Rp625 billion (US$34,4 million) for the capital city.
He detailed that the economic contribution from the Jakarta Running Festival reached approximately Rp175 billion (US$9,6 million), while the Ye concert totaled Rp450 billion (US$24,8 million).
"The economic impact of the Jakarta Running Festival has been calculated by officials under the coordination of the Jakarta Government's Financial Assistant, and the figure is Rp175 billion," Pramono explained on Monday.
According to him, the revenue includes 49 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and 130 brands, both local and international, participating in the Jakarta Running Festival 2026 race expo.
As for the Ye concert, the governor explained that ticket sales alone have generated an economic impact of Rp328 billion (US$18 million).
"Then, in terms of the event itself, Ye’s concert had a greater impact because its effects were felt both before and after the event. Many people were still staying in Jakarta as of yesterday, with the figure reaching around Rp450 billion. Combined with JRF, the total was approximately Rp625 billion," he outlined.
However, Pramono believes the actual figure exceeds Rp625 billion, as not all economic activities on the ground have been accounted for.
“I personally believe the figure is higher. Not all community activities can be quantified, but expenditures on hotels, shopping malls, and other measurable activities bring the total to roughly that amount," he continued.
Jakarta was chosen as the only city in Southeast Asia and Oceania to host Ye’s concert.
Fans flew from Malaysia, Singapore, the United States, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, Vietnam, and New Zealand for the concert by Ye, the American singer formerly known as Kanye West.
