EastEnders' Max Branning to confront Amy and Craig after shock discovery

EastEnders love rat Max Branning desperately tries to do the right thing next week as he confronts Amy Mitchell and Craig Ingram about their inappropriate relationship.
Max is facing a major dilemma – he desperately needs Amy's financial help, but is also becoming seriously concerned for his teenage niece's welfare.

Earlier this week, Max grew concerned when he saw Amy getting into a car with Craig. However, he opted to stay quiet as she'd just offered him a tempting financial proposition, which would help him to pay off his debt to HMRC and deal with Cindy Beale's blackmail demands.
Next week, Max remains under pressure and decides to confide in his chaotic son Oscar…
"Max 'fesses up to Oscar about striking a deal with Amy to help her get access to her inheritance," explains our Walford source. "Amy will then partly use the cash to help Max settle his debts.
"Of course, none of this sounds too good, but Max is quick to assure Oscar that he also intends to stop villainous Craig in the process!"

Max sticks to his word by summoning Amy and Craig for a tense conversation.
He questions them about how their relationship started and is horrified to learn that Craig covered for Amy after discovering she was guilty in Joel Marshall's attack case.
"Max realises that the situation has got out of hand and Amy is out of her depth," continues our spy. "He tells Amy that he'll stick to his promise to sign the forms to release her inheritance, but makes it clear that he wants her to tell her dad Jack the truth about Craig.

"Sadly, though, it may be too late! Max decides to meet up with Jack himself, but their catch-up is cut short when Oscar rushes over, revealing that he's already seen Amy and Craig preparing to leave Walford together."
Amy's flight with Craig devastates the Brannings and prompts a police investigation.
Max soon receives the money that Amy promised him and pays off Cindy as planned, but will he cover up his shameful role in this saga?
