Cops arrest 2, seize P3.9M in meth in Lanao del Sur

COTABATO CITY — Police authorities in Lanao del Sur arrested Saturday, Oct. 10, two suspected high-value drug personalities and seized from them P3.9 million worth of illegal drugs.
Capt. Steffi Salanguit, speaking for Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR), identified the suspects as alias “Sultan,” 37, of Barnagay Pindolonan, Piagapo town, and alias “Tricky,” 45, of Barangay Gadongan, Saguiaran town.
She said an undercover agent managed to buy meth from the suspects during an entrapment operation in Barangay Poblacion, Saguiaran, at about 10 a.m.

After the two handed over the illegal stuff to the buyer, they were arrested by police personnel, some in civilian clothes. The two did not resist arrest, said Salanguit.
Police seized six huge sachets of suspected shabu, mobile phone, identification cards and the marked money.
Now detained at Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Lanao del Sur office detention facility, the suspects are facing charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Also on Saturday, anti-narcotics operatives arrested a 39-year-old alleged drug peddler in an afternoon sting operation in Kitaotao, Bukidnon, on Saturday, Oct. 10.

The suspect, identified by police only by the alias “Dondon,” was cornered around 1:54 p.m. at Purok 2, Barangay Magsaysay, after allegedly selling suspected crystal meth (shabu) to an undercover officer, according to the press advisory of Maj. Jose Regner Sevilleno, chief of the Kitaotao Municipal Police Station.
The Kitaotao police Drug Enforcement Unit and the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company carried out the operation alongside the Bukidnon Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Intelligence Unit. Investigators classified the suspect as a street-level target.

Seized from the suspect were three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing around 0.3 grams of suspected shabu valued at P2,040, an empty pack of Fort menthol cigarettes, and a P500 bill used in the operation. (With a report from Cong Corrales) INQ /mr
