For the past year, actor Kim Soo Hyun has been legally involved in a case regarding the late Kim Sae Ron. Following allegations about their dating history, Soo Hyun was sued by multiple brands for damages because of the controversy.

This included the returns he received from an advertising brand with which he had a contract since 2020, which was cancelled last year after the controversies. Kim Soo Hyun wins 577 million KRW lawsuit

According to reports shared by Allkpop, the actor recently scored a victory in a lawsuit that had been filed against him for advertising for a watch brand.

The outlet reported that Chief Judge Choi Soo-jin of the Seoul Eastern District Court’s 13th Civil Division dismissed the brand's claims in the lawsuit. The initial request was for the actor to pay them the return he earned from the advertising contract. The amount came to a total of 577 million KRW.The official ruling was issued on August 27, 2026, and the company did not file any appeal against the verdict within the valid time period.

Neither the actor nor his official management agency, which has been named in the case, will have to pay any of the amount back to the company.The case initially started after the brand, which Soo Hyun had been working with since 2020, cancelled their contract with him following the controversies involving him and the late Kim Soo Hyun. The outlet stated that the actor’s commercial value had taken a hit because of the controversies, which were said to be the grounds for the lawsuit.

During the lawsuit, the actor and his management agency maintained that the controversy originated from allegations made by a third party.

According to reports, his company maintained that, because of this, he was never in breach of his advertising contract with the brand and that the contract termination was not valid.This is one of the many legal disputes and lawsuits Kim Soo Hyun has been involved in since last year, when the allegations first came to light.
