Translate

Days Of Our Lives and Another World actor Robert Kelker-Kelly died of arteriosclerotic heart disease, commonly known as coronary artery disease, according to the Office of the Regional Medical Examiner in St. Charles, Mo. as reported by People. The manner of death was ruled natural.

Kelker-Kelly died October 3 at his home in St. Peters, Missouri. He was 62.

St. Peters police officers had responded to his home for a report of an unconscious man who was not breathing, according to police at the time. Kelker-Kelly reportedly had complained of chest pain shortly before becoming unresponsive. Paramedics “attempted life-saving measures,” but Kelker-Kelly was pronounced dead at 9:09 pm, according to police.

Kelker-Kelly’s acting career began in 1987 when he was cast as Sam Fowler on NBC’s Another World, appearing in the daytime drama for three years until 1990. His big break came two years later when he landed the established role of Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives, taking over for Peter Reckell, who had exited. He portrayed Bo Brady opposite Kristian Alfonso’s Hope Brady and Lisa Rinna’s Billie Reed before Reckell returned to the role in 1995.

In 1996, he returned to Another World playing the role of professional race car driver Bobby Reno, who later was discovered to be Dr. Shane Roberts. He played the role until 1998.

He also portrayed Stavros Cassadine on General Hospital in 2001, appearing in guest spots from 2002-14.

Kelker-Kelly later became a professional pilot, working in the field from 2003 to 2015.
