KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2 — The Ministry of Transport has confirmed that digital services company Zetrix AI Bhd owes the federal government over RM200 million in unremitted public collections.

A ministry spokesman confirmed the substantial arrears to The Edge, following a report by The Straits Times revealing that the e-government concessionaire had failed to transfer money collected for vehicle road tax, driving licence renewals, and traffic summonses to the Road Transport Department (JPJ).

Earlier, the Singapore daily reported, citing official government documents, that Zetrix AI had withheld the collections from the very inception of its three-year service contract in May 2023.

An unnamed government official said the ministry was weighing its options.

The company, which established Malaysia's e-government delivery network under its former identity MyEG Services Bhd since 2000, pioneered online public service portals through long-running link-ups with JPJ.

According to Zetrix AI’s latest annual report, the company booked other payables totalling RM95.5 million, comprising trade payables, customer deposits, and accruals for revenues earned or expenses incurred before cash settlements took place.

Short-term loans and borrowings accounted for the majority of its current liabilities at RM577.4 million, alongside non-current liabilities of RM1.25 billion.

Despite the unremitted government revenues, the group reported robust financial performance, posting a net profit of RM269.3 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026 and bringing its net profit for the first six months of the financial year to RM540.58 million.
