OCD says habagat death toll reaches 33
MANILA, Philippines — A total of 33 people have died from the impact of the southwest monsoon or habagat, according to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD).
Aside from the fatalities, 19 were hurt while three remain missing, Gregorio Tomas, OCD director, said in a press conference on Monday.

He also said a total of 8.8 million individuals nationwide were affected by the weather disturbance.

Habagat continues to affect Metro Manila and the entire Luzon and western section of Visayas, bringing overcast skies and scattered rains and thunderstorms, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Tropical Depression Pilandok is also expected to enhance habagat, according to Pagasa. /mr
