Calabarzon police seize P13.3M worth of illegal drugs in a week


LUCENA CITY — Police in the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon seized more than P13.3 million worth of illegal drugs during anti-narcotics operations conducted across Calabarzon from Aug. 31 to Sept. 6.
The Calabarzon police reported on Monday (Sept. 7) that 228 suspects were arrested in 181 drug busts last week.
Police seized 1,922 grams of shabu (crystal methamphetamine), 1,973.97 grams of marijuana, and 61.72 grams of high-grade marijuana, locally known as “kush,” with a combined estimated value of P13,399,056, the report said.

Highlighted by the report was the seizure of P8,160,000 worth of shabu from two high-value drug suspects in Batangas City on Sept. 1 and 2.
During the whole month of August, police arrested 1,156 suspected drug traffickers and confiscated illegal drugs worth P19,772,573 in various operations across Calabarzon.
The value of drugs seized in August was lower than the P29.5 million worth confiscated by police in July.
