Police appeal after man, 25, dies following crash between car and bus in north-west London

A 25-year-old man has died following a crash between a car and a bus in north-west London.

Officers were called to Honeypot Lane in Stanmore just before midnight on Sunday following reports of a collision.

Police attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the driver of the car, a 25-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family have been informed and continue to be supported by specialist officers.

The Metropolitan Police are now appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

A 44-year-old man, the driver of the bus, was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital, where his injuries have been assessed as life-changing.

Two men, aged 25 and 26, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A 51-year-old man was later arrested for the same offence.

They all remain in police custody.

Acting Detective Inspector Fiaz Janjua said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the victim at this extremely difficult time.

“While we have arrested two men who are in custody, the investigation remains at an early stage. As we try and build a full picture of this incident, we want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any relevant information, particularly anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage.”

The road remains closed at the junction of Cumberland Road in both directions.
