Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said the government had yet to identify those behind the alleged wiretapping of the president and several other state officials.

“We do not have the details yet. The process is still with the police. The information will be conveyed to the media and the public,” he said on Wednesday.

He said the government was awaiting the results of the police investigation to determine who was responsible for the alleged wiretapping, destruction of electronic evidence, and unauthorized access.

According to Hadi, the alleged wiretapping targeted not only the president but also several ministers, political party leaders, and community organization figures.

“This raises questions about the intent and purpose. We will await the full details of the investigation,” he said.

Hadi described the alleged wiretapping and unauthorized access as serious matters because they involved the head of state and other government officials. He said the misuse of sensitive information concerning state leaders could jeopardize national interests and sovereignty.

“There is a lot of very sensitive information that could endanger the interests and sovereignty of the nation and state,” he said.

Hadi added that President Prabowo Subianto had instructed National Police Chief General Suyudi Ario Seto to ensure that the legal process was conducted objectively and transparently, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

“The president has instructed the police chief to ensure that the investigation is conducted properly, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and with the utmost objectivity and transparency,” Hadi said.

The National Police Criminal Investigation Agency previously named three police officers, identified by the initials LSP, ASN, and EH, as suspects in the alleged wiretapping, destruction of electronic evidence, and unauthorized access.

The agency’s chief, Commissioner General Asep Safrudin, said on Tuesday (November 3) that the three were named suspects after investigators questioned several witnesses and seized evidence.
