Aceh military command unrolls 81-meter flag for TNI's anniversary

Banda Aceh, Aceh (ANTARA) - The Iskandar Muda Military Regional Command unrolled an 81-meter national flag during a parade in Banda Aceh on Sunday to mark the TNI's upcoming 81st anniversary.

“This event strengthens national unity, patriotism, and love for the homeland while deepening ties between the armed forces and the public,” Iskandar Muda Military Regional Commander Major General Joko Hadi Susilo said here Sunday.

Students, motorcycle taxi drivers, and residents joined military personnel in the parade, marching through Banda Aceh, the capital of Aceh Province.

“The spirit of discipline, cohesion, and patriotism must be cultivated among younger generations. Let us preserve unity and build Aceh through mutual cooperation,” he said.

The parade began at Balee Sanggamara, passed the iconic Baiturrahman Grand Mosque, and ended at the Blang Padang sports field.

The public celebration featured marching band performances and drill team competitions involving high school students from across the province.

“Involving youth helps instill core values of discipline, teamwork, and national pride from an early age,” he said.

Susilo said the 81st anniversary offered an opportunity to reflect on military service while reinforcing national solidarity and civic responsibility.
