Watch: Moment €9m worth of art stolen from Italy museum

Translate

Police have recovered three paintings that were stolen from a museum in Italy earlier this year.

CCTV footage of the theft on the night of 22 March was released by authorities, showing two masked thieves breaking into the Magnani Rocca Museum, near the city of Parma.

It is estimated the paintings have a combined worth of €9m (£7.8m), making it one of the most significant art thefts in Italy in recent years.

Police confirmed in a statement that the paintings by Cézanne, Renoir, and Matisse were recovered during searches, but gave no further details.
