Jason Sanjay wants to explore father Vijay's humorous side; says 'I really enjoy watching' it.

Tamil Nadu CM Vijay's son Jason Sanjay is making his directorial debut with the Sundeep Kishan-starrer 'Sigma,' and expectations are high.In a recent interview, Jason Sanjay spoke about his filmmaking plans.

He was asked which aspect of his father's personality he would like to bring to the screen. Jason Sanjay said he particularly enjoys Thalapathy Vijay's humorous side. He also revealed in the chat with Galatta Plus that he has closely observed this playful personality while growing up with his father.The 'Sigma' director said, “His sense of humour is something I really enjoy watching. I saw the personal side of him at home as well. I know humour is the inner child-like nature he has in him.

Over time, he stopped playing full-fledged fun and relatable characters. If I ever get a chance to direct him, I will explore that side of my father.”

Jason Sanjay recalls his grandfather's reaction

Jason Sanjay also discussed how his grandfather, filmmaker and actor SA Chandrasekhar, responded when he learned about his decision to become a director.According to Jason Sanjay, he and SA Chandrasekhar did not have an extensive discussion about the story or the idea at that point.

However, his grandfather did share advice about how he should conduct himself on a film set.Jason Sanjay recalled being advised not to let other people see any second thoughts or doubts while working on a project. The guidance was related to maintaining confidence in front of the team.

Thalapathy Vijay and SA Chandrasekhar influenced Jason Sanjay

Jason Sanjay also acknowledged the role his father and grandfather have played in shaping his approach to filmmaking. He credited both Thalapathy Vijay and SA Chandrasekhar for teaching him the importance of work ethic.Jason also spoke about his father's discipline at work and specifically pointed out Thalapathy Vijay's punctuality as one of the qualities he has observed closely. For Jason Sanjay the lessons from both generations of his family have contributed to his understanding of the film industry. He is now putting those experiences into practice with his first directorial venture.

'Sigma' features Sundeep Kishan in the lead role. The project is an action-adventure film directed by Jason Sanjay. The movie also has music composed by Thaman S. The film is set to reach theatres on October 2, 2026.
