Yagbonwura Cultural and Eco-Tourism Experience to showcase Savannah Region’s heritage and investment potential

As part of activities marking the 6th Inter Tourism Expo Accra (INTTA) 2026, the Yagbonwura Cultural and Eco-Tourism Experience will take participants on a journey through the Savannah Region on 25–26 October 2026, promoting tourism, cultural exchange, commerce and investment opportunities.
The initiative seeks to bridge the geographical and economic divide between northern and southern Ghana by connecting people, businesses, investors and tourism stakeholders through the country's rich cultural heritage and natural attractions.
The experience will showcase key destinations, including Damongo, Mole National Park, Larabanga and Bole—the President of Ghana's hometown-, highlighting the region's cultural traditions, historic landmarks, wildlife and hospitality potential.
From the historic Larabanga Mosque to the wildlife attractions of Mole National Park, the Savannah Region offers significant opportunities for heritage tourism, eco-tourism, hospitality, agribusiness and community-based enterprise development.
Beyond sightseeing, the initiative aims to stimulate domestic tourism, encourage business partnerships and attract investment into tourism infrastructure, accommodation, transport, local food production, crafts and cultural experiences.
Speaking on the economic importance of the initiative, Mr Emmanuel Treku, Executive Chairman of INTTA, stated: “Tourism is more than sightseeing; it is a powerful economic tool for connecting communities, creating jobs, stimulating local businesses and attracting investment. Through the Yagbonwura Cultural and Eco-Tourism Experience, we want to demonstrate that northern Ghana is not only rich in culture and natural attractions but also offers significant opportunities for tourism development, hospitality, agribusiness and commerce.
Visiting Bole, the President's hometown, is particularly significant because it provides an opportunity to spotlight the economic potential of the community and the wider Savannah Region. We want participants to experience these destinations firsthand, engage with local businesses and identify opportunities for investment and partnership.

Our vision is to use tourism to bridge the gap between northern and southern Ghana, ensuring that the benefits of tourism, trade and investment reach communities across the country. When we travel across Ghana, we build cultural understanding, expand business relationships and create opportunities for shared prosperity.”
The initiative also supports Ghana's broader economic development ambitions by promoting tourism as a catalyst for employment, entrepreneurship and the 24-Hour Economy agenda.
By connecting tourism destinations with investors, hospitality operators, agribusinesses and local enterprises, INTTA seeks to encourage a more inclusive tourism economy in which communities across Ghana can benefit from increased visitor spending and commercial partnerships.
The Yagbonwura experience therefore represents more than a sightseeing excursion. It is an invitation to discover northern Ghana's potential, strengthen national integration and create lasting connections between culture, commerce and investment.
Ghana's tourism future must embrace every region, connect every community and create opportunities for all.
