Coronation Street has released a new teaser for a special episode of the soap that will air next week, focusing on Debbie Webster and her group of friends.

The single-strand episode is a celebration of Debbie and her mates – Abi Webster, Christina Boyd, Bernie Winter-Alahan, Glenda Shuttleworth and Sally Metcalfe – whom she has affectionately named Debbie’s Angels.

Now the ITV soap has shared some new pictures from the episode, which will air on Monday, 9 November, as well as a new trailer that gives viewers a first look of what to expect.

Debbie has young on-set vascular dementia and she and husband Ronnie are currently navigating what the future holds with her progressive condition, but she is also trying to make some treasured memories with her loved ones.

In the much-anticipated instalment of Corrie, the women are instructed to gather at Debbie’s flat to help her out with a surprise for her son Carl’s 40th birthday.

As the intrigued characters gather, Debbie empties a plastic crate onto the carpet, revealing hundreds of pictures from over the years, and that she wants to use to make a photo book for Carl.

The group of women are more than happy to give Debbie a helping hand and the crafting session gets started. But what begins as a fun bonding experience soon descends into chaos as tensions rise between the popular characters.

There are some heated confrontations between the women about family history and past trauma, and it quickly becomes tricky to keep the celebratory mood.

As the episode unfolds, some characters confide in the others about the issues they are currently facing, while others reveal to their friends that they have difficult decisions to make about their futures.

For example, we know that Christina is struggling with getting to the truth about her daughter Rachel’s death, while Bernie is dealing with her son Kit’s cancer diagnosis.

Thankfully, Debbie’s Angels remain as close as ever by the end of the episode, with various rifts resolved, and the women band together to move forward through their challenges.

But in the aftermath of the emotional episodes, a number of the characters are left to navigate some life-changing choices alone.

What will this special episode mean for these formidable women and their individual challenges?

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
