Urologists see rising erectile dysfunction cases among young Kenyan men

Kenyan urologists are seeing younger men seek help for difficulties getting or maintaining an erection. Dr Winstar Mokua Ombuki, a consultant urologist at Aga Khan Hospital, says his clinic has recorded at least 40 per cent more erectile dysfunction-related visits compared with five years ago.

“Although ED [erectile dysfunction] cuts across men of all ages, most of the recent cases I have handled involve young men in their 30s. I have also attended to men in their 20s suffering from ED, mainly caused by performance anxiety.”
