KULIM: A woman died from multiple stab wounds allegedly inflicted by her husband at Taman Tiram, Kulim Hi-Tech Park, last night.

District police chief Superintendent Syamsul Sinring said police had seized a folding knife believed to have been used in the attack.

He said preliminary investigations found that the incident was believed to have been triggered by jealousy.

"The suspect admitted to stabbing the victim 13 times; seven times in the chest, five times in the stomach and once on the right side of her body, using a folding knife.

"The suspect surrendered at the Lunas police station shortly after the incident. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code," he said.

The victim's body was sent to the Forensic Department of Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Star.
