P. V. Sindhu further improved her world ranking, rising to sixth after her recent title-winning run at the Hylo Open 2026 in Germany.

The Indian beat Denmark’s Line Højmark Kjaersfeldt 21-12, 21-14 in the summit clash to win her second title of the season, adding to her Japan Open crown from earlier in the year.

The Super 500 title added 9,200 points to her tally and helped her jump two spots in the latest update of the BWF World Rankings. A week ago, Sindhu had entered the top-10 — jumping three places to eighth — after her tremendous run at the French Open where she fell to World No. 1 An Se-young in the final.

The last time she was in the top five was back in October 2022, when she was briefly World No. 5.

Other Indians in women’s singles, Tanvi Sharma rose to 21st (rising one place) and Unnati Hooda dropped two places to 23rd.

In men’s singles, Lakshya Sen also made improvements, jumping once place to sit 13th after his Hylo Open title.
